Instead of being the World Police, why don’t the US simply supply select key Nations to Police their regions?
Talking Militarily, instead of the US having to carry a lot of the weight, in hostile Regions around the Globe, why not supply several select Countries to Police their own Regions.
For instance here in Australia we have ordered and paid for hundreds of top US made ‘Joint Strike Fighter’ Aircraft, yet that delivery is still years away! So Australia could actively control, or ‘Police’ the Asia-Pacific Region with better Air capabilities, so why not give us your F15’s or F’18’s, even an Air-Craft Carrier or 2!
When we’re done with them they could be used for Rescue relieve, flood relieve, etc…or become great Dive Sites of the Great Barrier Reef.
Okay we are not the world police. When we go somewhere to aid in security our troops get treated like dirt and we get chastised by the people and the leadership not only there but around the world. When we don’t we get chastised by the leadership of whatever country’s leadership and their people and everyone around the world. What would you have us do?

Australia is definitely pulling its weight. Compared to America’s 300 million, Australia has just a bit over 20 million. Australian forces are the mainstay in East Timor and the Solomons where American forces are not serving.

It’s not up to us or any other nation to "police their area of the world". Thinking that way is what got the United States involved in yet another unpopular, morally questionable war. Australia has been and continues to be one of our best friends and greatest allies and does perform a vital function in that area of the World by ensuring a strong presence for human rights and the cause of freedom. However, it would be wrong for us to assume that the good people of Australia will always agree with our foreign policies and storm into another sovereign country at the behest of the United States. We want friends that will tell us how they feel (whether or not it agrees with our policies), not do whatever we want them to.

you got a be kidding right? The US wouldn’t give us any front line machines unless the were out of date, like the M1’s where getting. Or highly inflated like the JSF and even the JSF’s we do get will pale compared to the US ones. Cant have us aussie’s with stealth capabilities. But to the US policing they don’t, that’s the UN’s area. Iraq & Afghanistan were american causes, WMD’s in Iraq and Osama in Afghanistan and in 6yrs no ones found them. When Australia police countries in the asia pacific area we send the AFP not the armed forces like in the Solomons. East Timor was a UN venture that we took top billing on due to proximity and our own agenda to stabilise our region.
