Ah, sweet Winston! …
Ah, sweet Winston! My sheltie (Kodiak) barks at ‘fly swatters’ and any kind of tube (i.e., empty paper towel roll) or pipe, weird, huh? We got him when he was 8 weeks old so I suspect his breeder used a fly swatter to keep the puppies quiet. Kodiak is pretty quiet for a sheltie… shelties are the “best-est dogs on the planet” in my opinion.

My Sheltie, Chance, barks at anything with a motor or that flies (motorcycles, lawn mowers, airplanes, birds…) He is 13 now and starting to lose his hearing a bit, so it is sad when a motorcycle across the street starts up and he does not always hear it.

Whenever we see some unknown person walking in front of our house, my Abbi will go and stand watch at the front door. I’ll ask her, “Is there someone out there?” And she’ll bark once. Then I’ll say “Well, get ‘em!” And she’ll start doing the same thing your sheltie does when you mention motorcycles.
