The breeder starts the puppies on solid foods and divides the puppy crate area into 3 zones: sleeping/playing,feeding, & “potty.” Keep the puppy crate clean, this trains a dog to stay clean. At 5-6 weeks of age; begin leash training and outdoor walks to continue the potty training. A puppy can “hold it” one hour for every one month of age. So, an 8 week old puppy needs to go out every 2 hours.
