What are easy tricks shelties learn easily?

By admin · Sunday, February 14th, 2010

My Shetland sheepdog, Nikki, already knows: sit, stop, stay, go, and come….they are the basics do u have any others, and how to teach them? PLZ help! :D

P.S. Her fave treat is Natures Recipe
OH yea she also knows high five and handshake… =D
AND belly rub (i just forgot)

my sheltie knows, up (jump), high five, wave, spin, bow, speak, sing, crawl, rollover, belly (lay on his back for a belly rub) and shake. we’re also in the process of teaching him to catch a frisbee in the air. :) if you google these things, a site will tell you how to teach them. he’s so smart and learned every trick in about 5 minutes.

don’t you just love shelties!? seriously cool dogs.

lay down
roll over
drop it
get it
play dead
speak

Shetland Sheepdogs are a wonderful energetic and very intelligent breed, you should have no trouble teaching this dog new tricks.

paw: just pick up its paw,say paw, then praise it and feed it continue this until it does it with out thinking!
wave: say paw then don’t put out your hand, say ‘wave’ and praise the dog and repeat this until the dog does it when you say
hope this helps!
