Best way to introduce new puppy to home?

By admin · Saturday, March 20th, 2010

We are going to get a female Shetland Sheepdog puppy soon; however, we also have a male Silky Terrier at home already. He is about 3 years old. I do not really want our dogs to fight for their whole lives. Is there any way I can help them to get along better and to prepare my home for our new dog?
If they do. I suspect they’ll get along fine, but just in case. I want to be ready.

This may not be the right way- BUt when I brought my puppy home I just let her in the yard with my older dog- If she stepped out of line he let her know- I have never had a dog fight ..
Now thatthey are both older they play and she is so attached to him, Best friends- But I really didn’t need to do anything..
