Shelties bark, it is part of their character. Want a quiet dog - get a collie they pace but don’t bark much. Nothing is like a sheltie. Mine have lived up to 17 years old and this at a fairly healthy state of mind. maybe acts older a bit slower but no major illness.

They’re great dogs for children. They even sometimes try to herd them (or any other person really). When I was very small, my sheltie used to never let me out of her sight.
